By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third, by experience, which is bitterest.

  2. By reflection: "We do not learn from experience, we learn from reflecting on experience"
    By imitation: "Standing on the shoulders of giants", "Fake it, till you make it, by the time they will get to know you can bake it"
    By experience: "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man"
